Overview
Ledger® Live is the official application that connects to your Ledger® hardware wallet and lets you manage accounts, send/receive crypto, view portfolio balances, and install app updates. Available as Ledger® Live Desktop (Windows / macOS / Linux) and mobile apps, it pairs with your hardware device to sign transactions securely on-device.
Download & installation
Always get Ledger® Live from official sources. The app offers platform-specific installers and a portable .AppImage for Linux. After download, run the installer and follow the on-screen prompts. For Desktop, connect your Ledger® hardware via USB or Bluetooth (model-dependent).
Ledger® Live login & access
Ledger® Live itself uses a local password to protect the app and optionally integrates with your device PIN for transaction approval. If you see a “Can't verify Ledger® wallet” prompt, ensure your device firmware is updated and that the correct account is open on the device when prompted by Ledger® Live.
Troubleshooting common login issues
- Ledger Login not working: Reboot your computer, reconnect the device, try another USB cable/port, and confirm device PIN entry.
- Unable to login Ledger®: Ensure Ledger® Live is the latest version. Reinstall if corrupted and avoid third-party builds.
- Error connecting Ledger account: Check Bluetooth settings (if applicable), turn off VPNs, and temporarily disable browser extensions that may block USB/BLE.
Account recovery & 2FA
Ledger® hardware wallets rely on your 24-word recovery phrase — not Ledger® support — to recover accounts. There is no “2FA reset” for the device: if you lost your phrase and PIN, funds are unrecoverable. If you merely lost access to Ledger® Live app (device in hand), reinstalling the app and connecting your device restores access without needing the recovery phrase.
When Ledger® Live App is not working
Common fixes include updating firmware, installing the latest Ledger® Live version, switching USB cables, and reviewing Ledger® Help Center articles. Avoid entering your recovery phrase into any app or website — Ledger® staff will never ask for it.
